Grounded in our willingness to take on challenges and make-it-happen approach to custom molding, Hawk Plastics offers a breadth and depth of expertise in the following areas:
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT & ENGINEERING
Our knowledgeable and experienced in-house program managers and engineers will be with you every step of the way. We provide full APQP, gate-style launch program management so our customers are comfortable with each stage of the part production process and confident in the quality of the final product.
Hawk Plactics’ full program management includes an engineering review of new part designs for moldability and recommendations for improvement and/or cost savings where appropriate. Our program managers also facilitate tooling with exceptional local and international mold makers. Program managers are active during the manufacturing and quality control as well as the warehousing and distribution stages ensuring a continuity of exceptional customer service.
MANUFACTURING & QUALITY CONTROL
Specializing in 2-shot and insert molding, Hawk Plastics offers 32 automated presses running 24 hours a day, seven days a week in facilities spanning more than 50,000 square feet. Our presses range in size from 50 to 850 tons allowing us to produce plastic parts less than an inch in size all the way up to more than 4 feet in size. We also offer custom-built end-of-arm tooling for projects requiring special finishing tasks. Hawk provides manual part assembly with Pokeyoke detection as well as fully automated part assembly.
In addition, Hawk Plastics has a full metrology department to ensure all of the products we produce are of the highest quality. Our in-house lab is staffed by specialists and equipped with a wide range of inspection equipment including a CMM, an optical comparator (shadow graph), a Spectrophotometer as well as a Mac Beth Light Booth.
WAREHOUSING & DISTRIBUTION
Hawk Plastics is strategically located near the Canada-U.S. border in Windsor, Ontario with easy access to a range of shipping methods across North America. We also have three warehouses totaling 24,000 square feet and experienced program managers who help our customers stock the right quantities in the right place at the right time.
Hawk’s facilities house 32 state-of-the-art injection molding presses, with a full production schedule (24 hours, 7 days a week) to maximize efficiency.
Plastic injection molding machines come in all shapes, sizes and configurations. These presses are classified based on tonnage, or more specifically the clamping pressure or force. At Hawk, our presses run in size from 50 tons of clamping pressure up to 850 tons. The higher the press ton rating, the larger the machine. The selection of the machine will depend on several variables including the size of the mold, the number of cavities and the selected resin. Our comprehensive Equipment List below breaks down the types of presses we have at our facilities.

For Canadian Quality Performance
The SPE Automotive Innovation Awards is the oldest and largest awards competition in the automotive and plastics industries.
In 2015, Windsor Machine Group and Hawk Plastics teamed up to design and injection mold a unique rear-seat, folding head restraint. This unique part eliminates a welded steel structure and replaces it with a single-piece, living hinge thermoplastic core as its main structural component.
Most Innovative Use of Plastics
Lawrence Pazner from CAN-AM Recycling Inc., presented Hawk Plastics with an Earth Day Recycling Recognition Award on October 1, 2020. The presentation of the award was delayed because of Covid-19. Earth Day was on April 22, 2020 but as a result of the global shut down the presentation had to be delayed. CAN-AM recognized Hawk for their efforts to better sort, identify and ship their scrap plastics.
As an ever-growing company, Hawk Plastics is constantly innovating in every aspect of our business, from customer service to facilities to technology to ensure that we offer the best services possible.
Hawk Plastics is now proud to offer:
2-SHOT MOLDING
